Carlito

A conversation across generations

“Carlito” is an independent documentary project exploring family, memory, and the stories that connect generations.

Deep in the backroads of Indaiatuba, Brazil, surrounded by towering green trees and an old cobbled road, sits a small chácara - a farmhouse built by the man who calls it home.

That man is Carlito. Here, he lives with his wife Izaura and their dog Laika, surrounded by the warmth and memories of a life built over many years.

From the sunlight casting shadows across the walls, to the reflections dancing from the pool and the familiar colours of the kitchen, every detail tells a story of a place shaped by time, family, and tradition.

Carlito is the grandfather of my partner Amanda. Despite the language barrier between us, I have always been drawn to his character and fascinated by the life he has lived.

This film captures a conversation between Carlito and his granddaughter - a reflection on his memories, experiences, and the journey that brought him to where he is today.

A memory to be kept forever.
